Candle in My Window - for Tibet
In the background of this newsletter is the 2008 Tibetan unrest, which began with demonstrations on March 10, 2008, and Mr. David Califa (hereunder) who contacted the undersigned for less than a week ago.
The
basis of David Califa’s original idea and concept, Candle in My
Window – for Tibet, is
that it is an
actual and spiritual act in where the internet is the vehicle to
bring all people together. It
needed support from a
globally well connected
professional and
a
virtual organization
from the
very beginning
of the
starting
phase till
the
key event.
This was the reason of the very first contact by Mr. Califa as mentioned above. Because of his brilliant idea, our mutual values, experience and, first of all, the great and most important cause, we ended-up to start to collaborate immediately.
Now we encourage you to join us as well! We will do something really great and special. Together.

There are half million people who have joined us already, and millions of other people around the world who will join us before the key event the 7th of August 2008.
Candle in My
Window – for Tibet
has been created and started on the grass root level, without any
organizations behind it. It's totally non-profit and free of
interests.
The father of the original idea and the developer of the concept is David Califa, 52 (http://www.linkedin.com/pub/8/928/519).
He operates as a private individual with a group of young bright and idealistic people from Israel.
We will light a candle for Tibet because Tibet has become a symbol of freedom.
It
is a symbol that represents the natural right of any human being for
self determination, freedom of thought, conscience, belief and
religion.
Freedom is the most important value for us working for this movement.
The Olympic Games in Beijing is a unique opportunity to focus the world's attention on the annulment of those rights in Tibet and in many other places in the world.
Lighting a candle represents solidarity with the people of Tibet.
"Enlightenment" by
Jamie Williams
Each candle lit window is one more prayer of hope for the world to
witness.
This will be our opening ceremony for the Olympic Games. And it will begin darkness falls in India on Thursday, Aug 7th 2008.
In this
way we will ensure that our millions and millions of candles are
seen and noticed throughout all the time zones of the world.
We are
going to create a unique moment when so many millions who otherwise
would do very little or nothing for Tibet, or any other cause, would
actually do something spiritual and meaningful. And do it together.
Our modest
objective is to reach 100 million people.
The media, I have no doubt, will pick on the story soon, which will
bring more participants, which will bring more coverage, and will
raise awareness for the Tibetan Cause. It's a virtuous circle.
We
have volunteers for public candle lighting, and translators who work
on translating the site. 7 languages today, 20 by mid summer
and 50 by the time to light our candles (we are looking for
translators).
And the best part is that we number half a million people before we
even begun.
We would also like to cooperate with as many Tibet support group as
possible.
If you have not
joined us yet, do it now at
http://www.candle4tibet.org/, and
invite all your friends and contacts to join us as well.
And if you'd like to help organizing public candle lighting email us info@candle4tibet.org
Note: Write Candle for Tibet in Google and/or Yahoo and see what happens.
